Call for Papers <Mater. Trans. Special Issue> “Kinetics and Phase Relationships for Microstructure Evolution in Metals and Alloys”
February 20, 2017     From: Materials Transactions
The editorial committee of Materials Transactions is planning to publish a special issue on “Kinetics and Phase Relationships for Microstructure Evolution in Metals and Alloys” as December 2017.
The committee would like to invite many contributions of original articles from around the globe for this special issue.

Objective and topics of coverage are as follows:
Physical and mechanical properties of metals and alloys are determined not only by the chemical composition but also by the microstructure. In order to realize the excellent properties, it is essentially important to optimize the microstructure. Microstructure evolution of metals and alloys during heat-treatment is usually controlled by diffusion. In the early stages of the heat-treatment, however, the microstructure evolution is governed by interface reaction. Thus, reliable information on the rate-controlling process is necessary for the microstructure optimization. The present issue concerns the articles relevant to the kinetics and the phase relationships for the microstructure evolution in metals and alloys.

Topics:Diffusion, Interface migration, Kinetics, Equilibrium, Precipitation, Heat treatment, Compound, Intermetallics, Phase diagram, Metastable
